On August 25th we're going to be having our first "Big Gather" event. And it's going to be great! We've been running Gather for just over a year with the aim of doing creative worship in creative places, and so far that's just been living rooms, which are great, but our aim is to start doing some more varied venues. And so we're kicking off with our first bigger event, and it's in one of our favourite gig venues in Manchester, the Deaf Institute!
One of the ways we're going to fund what we do in Set Sail is through merch. We're designers and we love to create things, and it turns out people like to wear them too!
To launch Set Sail, we're going to be printing some limited edition t-shirts. We're printing a black, and a tri-blend blue t-shirt. So take a look and put your pre-order in. This will help us decide quantities to print and you'll be the first to get them once they go live!
So, this is stage one complete. We've finally lifted the lid on this "Set Sail" idea that we've been brewing for several months now. It's been very difficult to keep the excitement to ourselves but now that we've had the conversations we needed to have, we're able to launch the site and tell people about it!
It's a scary thing to go from simply being in a band to all of a sudden running an organisation, but I think all of us have a big sense of anticipation and new excitement now for what's ahead, even though we don't fully know what that is yet.
Also, we bought a boat to celebrate the occasion. We called her Maureen.
